Hey, everyone! I hope all is well! So BIG news! On saturday I had the AMAZING opportunity to meet Bruce Smith, the Disney animator!!! He animated Kerchak in Tarzan, Pacha in the Emperor's New Groove, Dr. Facilierin The Princess and the Frog, and most recently Piglet in Winnie the Pooh!!! He is very talented and really love his work! He was in town to speak at an event in honor of Martin luther King Jr. day and earlier that day he was at Barnes and Noble! Nothing like this ever happens in my small town so I think it was fate! ha ha I took a break from work and rushed over with my Art of the Princess and the Frog book and a picture of Dr. Facilier that I had drawn as a gift for him! I was so excited to meet him!! He is a very kind and gracious man! He signed my book (and sketched Dr. Facilier) while we talked for about 15 minutes about his expiriences in animation. I think he liked my picture too!

I told him that my only goal in life was to work at Disney and he gave me some advice! When I left I said "maybe I'll be working with you someday," and he said "Or I'll be working for you!" How awesome is that!?!
He also told me that he is currently working on "Frozen" (new title for "The Snow Queen") and it will be CG Animation!

It was so amazing to get to meet one of my heroes! I can't possibly thank him enough for his kindness! It was really a dream come true!
I really hope that my dream of working for Disney will come true someday. I have re-dedicated myself and I am going to work as hard as I can to make my dream come true 'cause "that old star can only take you part of the way..."
P.S. Beauty and the Beast in 3D was amazing too!

Keep dreaming!
