It's Over Now... by Cor104 It's Over Now... by Cor104
I saw a new publicity photo of Hugh Panaro from the Broadway cast and i nearly startedto cry. The photo was so emotive and captivating...The Phantom sits on his throne, a symbol of the power his music gives him, yet all that he ever wanted is gone...he sits alone...unmasked...vulnerable...

...watching the one he loves leave with another man...

I actually didn't look at the actuall photo as I drew this but the photo was my inspiration. I hope the contrast looks good on other computers....

You art feels like this could be a Disney film in its own right.

A few small points I have to say about this.

1. The design of Erik's deformity here really reminds me of the Chaney makeup design, which earns you brownie points, because Lon Chaney was my favorite Phantom.
2. The title and the almost contemplative look on his face just makes me think on thing... "Now what?" Christine is out of his life, he's exposed, we have no idea if the police will be looking for him after that incident with the chandelier, his whole future is uncertain. And I like that uncertainty.
2a. That ambiguous fate really reminds me what a dumb move Love Never Dies was. I mean really, an abandoned amusement park? Is he the Joker now?

Thank you very much!

1. I tried to come up with a deformity that would look like a tie between several versions.
2. That exactly what I was going for! :)
2a. I agree completely!

1. I really admire how Chaney was able to give the character depth with just his face and his actions. THAT's the mark of a great actor, conveying a whole character arc without speaking a word.

2a. I think the universe itself thought that show was a bad idea; everything up to and including Webber's cat tried to destroy that play.
